In the exquisite, baroque gardens of Hannover called the Herrenhäuser Gardens, renowned fireworks artists from all over the world drew great swathes of spectators in to see the majestic fireworks displays! As always, Fireworks for Africa was representing Africa and did a simply spectacular job! Their fireworks display was a work of art, perfectly set in time to their music, and left the crowds in awe.
These gardens are a truly magical place. This pristine setting was the backdrop for the Hannover International Fireworks Competition and, by all accounts, is one of THE best locations in the world to adorn with mesmerising fireworks displays.

This year’s display took place in September 2022. The original competition date was set for September 2020 but was pushed out due to the pandemic. Fortunately, it proved to be well worth the wait! Huge effort was required by the company’s designers, Nick Mitri and Dominick Vermaak, to ensure that Fireworks for Africa could put on a spectacular display, despite all the uncertainty around travel and event restrictions.
This was the third time that the FFA team competed at the Hannover International Firework Competition, and the energy crackled in the sunshine during a very intense setup. Nick and Dom were assisted by the very experienced team from Rohr Feuerwerke. They were extremely helpful in many aspects, and even managed to obtain all the fireworks material from various suppliers, as well-arranged additional crew to help setup and manage the display.
“We were so fortunate to have such a brilliant team in our corner,” said Mitri, owner of Fireworks for Africa. “Their expertise and professionalism shone, and they helped us to execute our vision perfectly in the night sky over Germany.”
FFA achieved 2nd Place overall!
Despite having put on one of the crowd’s favourite displays at the competition, Fireworks for Africa were unfortunately placed just behind the Polish team and had to settle for second place. This didn’t hamper their enjoyment of the event and everyone who attended raved about their display.
